Buying Books -- Cheap or 1st Edition Hardback...

Everyone knows about Amazon (www.amazon.com) as a place to buy books. They have done a good job setting up a marketplace, but books are fundamentally odd and booksellers might prefer selling on their own cooperative to amazon.

That's what www.abebooks.com is -- I find a significantly better selection and better prices on AbeBooks -- and also your order is going to some local bookseller.

From www.abebooks.com:
AbeBooks, the world’s largest online marketplace for books, lists over 100 million new, used, rare, and out-of-print books from more than 13,500 booksellers. This great selection delivers value for all: readers find bestsellers, collectors find rare books, students find textbooks, and treasure hunters find books they’ve been seeking forever.

As you go look to buy books. please don't just Amazon & buy a new book -- go buy it from some great quirky used bookstore for 25% of the list price -- you'll save money and probably support a fun quirky store somewhere in the world.
